Swimming Hole
Although this is not one of the more remote regions, I liked the scene because of its natural recreation potential. There was a fair amount of visitors to the falls – more than other regions. I had visited the falls early in the day to take a few photographs, but the light was not satisfactory. I ended up just scoping out different locations to shoot from at a different time. I came back later the same day and once there was nobody around and the light was just right, I pressed the shutter. I like this shot not because of any spectacular visual qualities, but because of what it represents. The whole time I was there I was thinking of what a great place it would be to go swimming on a hot summer day. The water was plenty deep and pure, and there was a natural rock ledge to jump off of. As it turned out, I had just taken the shot and was heading out when a few kids came running with swim suits. I watched them jump from the top of the waterfall into the pool below, having a great time.
