Early one morning on Moosehead Lake in Maine I was walking on the edge of the lake looking to make a shot.  It was below freezing and I couldn’t feel my fingers.  I found a rocky peninsula to shoot from and set up my camera.  A fearless duck kept coming up to me and sitting a foot from me as I was kneeling to get my camera set up.  The early morning fog on the water was extremely thick.  Once the sun started to burn some of the fog off, I started to see a figure on the lake, lurking in the mist.  I took the shot, then I was able to see that it was a small island.
