Dixville Notch
As I came around a corner in the road, I saw what I thought was a castle across a lake. With its multiple towers and pure white color it resembled some sort of renaissance architectural piece. I found out that it was actually a hotel that has been decommissioned for several years. I wanted to capture the beauty of the resort in its surroundings instead of just the buildings themselves. After searching for a shot all around the lake, I came to the conclusion that I would shoot it from the furthest end of the lake. Since the wind was blowing towards where I was standing, I used the colorful ring of leaves to frame the lake, mountains, and hotel off in the distance. I love how the grandeur of the hotel matches the power of the mountains and the landscape.
