My journey through New England had just started, and I had just woken up hours before sunrise on an island in Lake Champlain.  When it got light enough to see the sky, I noticed a layer of clouds that I thought would yield an incredible sunrise.  I frantically looked around for a place to shoot from.  After finding a location to shoot from on the shore of the lake, I set up my camera and waited for the light.  At first I thought it would be too cloudy for the sun to get through, but I had hope the sky would clear just enough.  I was ready for the right moment with my finger on the shutter button.  I had no idea how the sky would turn out.  I was so nervous that I began shooting.  The sky kept getting better and more vibrant.  Finally the sun punched through the clouds and I took the shoot.  It was an awesome Champlain Sunrise.
